My name is Sara (rhymes with Sahara) and I’m from a little town in central Scotland.
At the end of last year, after a difficult period of grief, I took a big leap and left home to travel across Australia. As part of the big 8-month trip, I set myself a goal of making happiness a priority in my calendar by trying lots of new things to lift me up to a better place.
I’ve tried yoga, Pilates, singing, knitting, hand lettering, writing, and even aerial hoop classes, but with my flight home to Scotland quickly approaching, there’s one hobby that I really want to stick for the long term.
I grew up in the countryside and the outdoors has always been a part of my life in one way or another (far less so in the past few years) and something I associate with being happy, calm and content. I want to embrace this and bring some daily sunshine and fresh air happiness back into my life.
So, I decided to challenge myself to get outside every day and to try a different outdoors activity every week for a year.I love to write so I created this blog as a fun way of documenting my adventures and keeping myself accountable. Wild Mind is about my year of getting outdoors to find happiness and keep mentally well. I hope it can help to inspire you to find your happiness outdoors too!
